GAC AION starts selling AION LX PLUS BEV with 1,008km of CLTC range
Shanghai (ZXZC)- GAC AION, the NEV-dedicated wholly-owned subsidiary of GAC Group, saw its long-anticipated new all-electric SUV model, the AION LX PLUS, hit the market on Jan. 5.

Coming with four trim levels, the new model features a guiding price range of 286,600 yuan ($45,000) to 459,600 yuan ($72,130). Notably, the price “286,600 yuan” is the after-subsidy one.

The AION LX PLUS measures 4,835mm long, 1,935 mm wide, and 1,685mm tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,920mm. Compared to the AION LX, the PLUS version is 49mm longer, while the length of the wheelbase remains unchanged.
The new model carries up to 35 intelligent sensors, including 3 second-generation variable-focus LiDAR units, 6 millimeter-wave radars, 12 ultrasonic radars, 8 high-definition cameras, 4 panoramic-view cameras, and 2 independent high-precision localization modules. It is also armed with an intelligent driving computing platform capable of 200TOPs.

On the inside, the 15.6-inch console-mounted screen utilizes the ADIG4.0 intelligent IoT (Internet of Things) system, which supports such functions as non-inductive car activation, AR-enabled navigation, and as well as DMS (Driver Monitor System) +OMS (Occupancy Monitoring System). The cockpit uses Qualcomm 8155 chips. Besides, the amenities including 10-loudspeaker audio system, NAPPA leather-wrapped seats, and leg support for rear-back passengers will be available for the top-spec version.
The AION LX Plus' top-tier version will feature a 144.4kWh battery pack using a sponge silicon anode, which promises a CLTC range of up to 1,008km.
Driven the vehicle will be an 180kW or 360kW electric motor, which can generate peak torque of 350 N·m and 700 N·m respectively. Aside from 1,008km of range, the model also offers another two range options, namely, 600km and 650km.
