According to JiDU, the vehicle will be showcased at the Beijing Auto Show in April, and its mass production and delivery will start in 2023.
The JiDU vehicle is designed under the "free movement" concept, referring to the company's intelligent driving system with L4 autonomous driving functions. The system allows safe autonomous driving functions on highways and open city roads under various scenarios. The system adopts Baidu's computing platform powered by NVIDIA DRIVE Orin, with JiDU and Baidu co-developed software and algorithms.
According to Baidu, the company has already accumulated 21 million kilometers of L4 autonomous driving test mileage so far.
JiDU CEO Yiping Xia said, "Since our establishment last year, JiDU has begun the R&D verificationof mass producible software based on the software-integrated simulation prototype SIMUCar, bringing innovation and high efficiency in the field of intelligent development.
By the end of 2021, SIMUCar has successfully demonstrated intelligent assisted driving in both urban and high-speed areas. Relying on Baidu's advanced AI capabilities and autonomous driving technology, as well as NVIDIA DRIVE Orin compute power, we can provide users with leading safe and reliable self-driving products, and create vehicles that can move around freely and get better over time. In 2023, JiDU's first mass-produced product will surely become the benchmark for smart cars."
