Located in Fuding county-level city of Ningde, Fujian province, the Fuding CATL battery manufacturing base will have a total of 120GWh in annual capacity and is expected to output production value of over 100 billion yuan ($15.693 billion) per year.
Involving an investment of 17 billion yuan ($2.668 billion), the first phase of the Fuding base features a designed annual capacity of 60GWh, expecting to generate production value of 50 billion yuan ($7.846 billion) per year and creating around 10,000 jobs.
Since CATL was headquartered in Ningde in 2011, the city has developed into the world's largest lithium ion polymer battery manufacturing base. As publicly disclosed, Ningde has introduced over 80 industrial chain projects from firms like Ningde Zhuogao, Shanshan Technology, XTC New Energy Materials, and Brunp Recycling, which contain such core battery materials and components as anode, cathode, separator, and electrolyte.
Up until now, Ningde has had 295GWh of battery capacity completed and under construction. By the end of Oct. 2021, Ningde's year-to-date production value of lithium battery-related industries reached 114.5 billion yuan ($17.968 billion).
