Xiaomi’s Lei Jun resigns from multiple companies to focus on automaking
Beijing (ZXZC)- In the past few months, founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, resigned as the executive director from several Xiaomi-related companies to dedicate his attention to his automaking endeavor, according to the PR manager of Xiaomi, Wang Hua.

Today, the PR manager said that the changes were normal corporate conduct, as Lei Jun has shifted his primary focus onto Xiaomi’s automaking business. The other administrative executives of the company can share the corresponding responsibilities and obligations.
He also reemphasized Lei Jun’s excitement regarding Xiaomi’s car making progress and said that “this signifies Xiaomi’s accelerated vehicle making development”. Lei Jun’s undivided dedication is needed at this stage.
On September 1st, Xiaomi Automobile Co., Ltd. has officially completed its business registration, with Lei Jun being its legal representative. Two months later, Lei Jun has taken on the position of manager and executive director of Xiaomi Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. on November 19th.
On October 15th, Lei Jun resigned from the board of Shanghai Xiaomi Finance Information Service Co., Ltd. Five days later, Lei Jun was removed from Xiaomi Credit Management Co., Ltd. On October 21st, he then resigned as the executive director of Chengdu Beida Assets Management Co., Ltd.
On December 7th, the legal representative, executive director, and general manager of Xiaomi Technology (Wuhan) Co., Ltd changed from Lei Jun to Zeng Xuezhong. Notably, Zeng Xuezhong was named as vice president of Xiaomi Group and president of Xiaomi’s cellphone unit in July 2020, reporting directly to Lei Jun.
In the past week, Lei Jun was found absent from four more Xiaomi-related companies.
