Honda Motor’s Jan.-Nov. China auto retail sales dip 1.8% YoY amid supply crunch
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Honda Motor (called “Honda” for short) said on Friday its China auto retail sales in November reached 136,685 units, plunging 20.2% from the year-ago period due to the impact of component supply constraint.
The Nov. retail sales of two joint ventures, GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda, stood at 69,134 units and 67,551 units respectively, falling 19.6% and 20.8% from a year earlier respectively.
As a result of seven-consecutive-month year-on-year decline, Honda Motor's China auto business saw its Jan.-Nov. retail volume edge down 1.8% year-over-year to 1,392,877 units, for the first time this year posting downward movement in year-to-date sales.
In the Jan.-Nov. period, GAC Honda's sales shrank 3% to 687,274 units, while Dongfeng Honda recorded a 0.6% slight decline with 705,603 new vehicles delivered.
The retail sales of the vehicles armed with the hybrid powertrain system “Sport Hybrid” reached 21,163 units in November, resulting in 211,942 units for the year-to-date volume.
