Changan Auto exports over 100,000 vehicles this year

Beijing (ZXZC)- Changan Automobile’s monthly sales continued to recover in October, with its cumulative sales to date exceeding the annual volume of the previous year.

In October, the automaker sold 202,292 vehicles in total, 7.5% more than September, but still 4.87% fewer than a year ago. In the first ten months, accumulative sales increased 22.16% compared to last year, to over 1.9 million vehicles. 

By October, yearly cumulative sales of Changan Auto’s wholly-owned brands amounted to nearly 1.5 million vehicles, surging 25.13% from 2020. With 1,031,493 vehicles sold, the group’s self-owned passenger vehicle sector saw a 33.11% rise year on year.

Changan Ford, the joint venture between Changan Automobile and Ford Motor, reported a 12.52% year-on-year increase in its monthly sales to 29,599 vehicles, but down 7.76% from the previous month.

October was the second month after FAW Mazda was acquired by the automaker’s another joint venture, Changan Mazda, and the sales volume of the joint venture amounted to 17,646 vehicles during the month, edging up 1.7% from September.

Changan Auto’s wholly-owned intelligent vehicle line, the UNI series, sold 11,249 vehicles in October. 

During the same month, the group shipped 7,874 vehicles overseas. For the first ten months this year, Changan Auto managed to surpass 100,000 vehicles in export volume, soaring 136.1% from a year ago, covering over 70 countries and regions with over 500,000 users internationally. 

The group's new energy vehicle (NEV) sector sold 10,930 vehicles, marking the fourth consecutive month with over 10,000 NEVs sold.
