JAC Group YTD sales up 23% YoY

Beijing (ZXZC)- In the first eight months, JAC Group’s cumulative sales raised 23.24% year on year to 354,600 vehicles, with 30,400 vehicles sold in August, representing a 26.84% decline compared to the same month of last year.

Sales of the group’s SUV sector soared 73.41% year on year to 13,977 vehicles, whereas the respective sales in the MPV and sedan sectors were 2,171 and 1,234 vehicles, both saw a decline from a year ago. From January to August, the respective cumulated sales of the SUV, MPV, and sedan sectors were 46,501 vehicles, 20,918 vehicles, and 25,084 vehicles, with a decline in the sedan sector alone.

According to the automaker’s financial report released in August, the group has made a turnaround from losses in the first half of this year as its semi-annual sales saw an increase of 36.12% from a year ago. Revenue grew 13.87% to RMB22.38 billion, while net profit totaled RMB478 million.

Aside from the promising sales results, JAC Group has furthered its capital cooperation with NIO early on, as the two companies set up Jianglai Advanced Manufacturing and Technology Co., Ltd. The partnership symbolized the aspiring innovation and exploration in NEV manufacturing, service model, and management mechanism. JAC and NIO will jointly establish a better co-existence of networks, platforms, data, and artificial intelligence to promote further China’s green industry and new energy vehicle industry.

Moreover, on August 16th, JAC Group revealed their most recent collaboration updates with HUAWEI in several aspects, including HMS, core sensor for autonomous driving, MDC, and intelligent cabins. In 2019, the two companies entered into a comprehensive partnership regarding such areas as intelligent vehicle solutions, IT applications, smart industrial parks, and intelligent factories.
