OEMs’ NEV subsidy sum for 2016-2020 totals RMB32.95 billion
According to a document of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, the total subsidy sum for automakers totaled RMB32.95 billion from 2016 to 2020. Many automakers got subsidies over RMB1 billion, such as BYD, BAIC, Dongfeng, Tesla, Chery, Geely, Great Wall Motor, SAIC and GAC.
Chengdu aims to add 450,000 NEVs by 2025
Chengdu said in a planning that the city aims to add another 450,000 new energy vehicles (NEVs) by 2025, including 5,000 fuel cell vehicles. By that time, the city will have a total of 600,000 NEVs in total.

Geely Auto August sales down 22% YoY

China’s July NEV sales account for 53% of global NEV sales
2.84 million new energy passenger vehicles were sold globally from January to July, 48% of which were sold in China. For July alone, China’s NEV sales accounted for 53% of the global NEV sales volume, according to Cui Dongshu, the secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
Cao Cao Mobility raises 3.8 billion yuan in Series B financing
Cao Cao Mobility, a ride-hailing platform strategically invested by Geely Technology Group, announced earlier this week it has closed the Series B funding with 3.8 billion yuan ($588.609 million) raised, marking the first domestic equity investment in a ride-hailing service provider for the year of 2021.
