The partnership will co-develop integrated autonomous driving solutions to push forward the deployment and commercialization of intelligent and self-driving technologies. The companies will adopt the “smart car” + “intelligent road” strategy to realize the mass production of relevant solutions.

Hesai Technology has accumulated profound expertise in core components and technologies: self-developed LiDAR chips, automotive volume production capability, functional safety, interference rejection technology, and LiDAR perception based on deep learning, with clients from over 30 countries and regions. Hesai’s comprehensive LiDAR matrixes can be applied to autonomous driving, car-road synergy, and other auto-related scenarios.

In the past two months, Hesai Technology partnered with several major players in China’s auto industry, including Li Auto and Baidu’s JiDU Auto, tech providers such as Didi, Baidu’s Apollo, WeRide, and Horizon.

Black Sesame Technologies is an AI company focusing on image processing, perception algorithm, and SoC design. Based on its high-performance computing chips and platforms, the company provides intact autonomous driving and car-road synergy solutions.

Black Sesame is also the sole Chinese manufacturer with two high-computing-power chips passing the ISO26262 auto-grade functions security standard.

By virtue of the supply chain synergy from both parties, the partnership will bring a safer, more reliable, and easy-to-use autonomous driving solution together.
