BYD’s monthly new vehicle PV sales hit record high in July
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Last month, BYD Company Limited (BYD) saw its new vehicle sales surge 82.94% from a year ago to 57,410 units, according to the company's announcement. As of July 2021, BYD achieved year-on-year growth in monthly sales for the 13th consecutive month.
Among the new vehicles sold last month, 56,975 units were passenger vehicles (PVs), representing an 89.4% hike year-over-year and a 14.5% growth month-over-month. The sales of new energy PVs (NEPVs) hit a new high of 50,057 units, while also shot up 262.71% from the year-ago period. Notably, the growth in the sales of DM models, namely, plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) models, stood at up to 650.55%.

The BYD Han had a sales volume of 8,522 units last month. By the end of July 2021, cumulative sales of the flagship sedan had exceeded 100,000 units, only one year after the model hit the market.
On July 20, BYD saw the 100,000th BYD Han sedan roll off the production line at the plant in Pingshan district, Shenzhen.
Moreover, the sales of the Tang, Song, Qin, and Yuan families amounted to 4,676 units, 14,425 units, 19,032 units, and 4,255 units in July respectively. Meanwhile, the BEV-focused e series recorded a sales volume of 3,465 units.
For the first seven months of the year, BYD's cumulative sales soared 60.04% to 304,099 units. Its year-to-date NEV sales zoomed up 170.62%, which completely offset the 13.31% downward movement in the fuel-burning vehicle sales.
