Jaguar Land Rover says first-half sales in China leap 52% YoY

Shanghai (ZXZC)- For the first half of 2021, Jaguar Land Rover sold 54,669 new vehicles in China, representing a 52% hike year over year, the company announced on July 16. As of June 2021, the UK-based premium carmaker posted year-on-year growth in China sales for ten consecutive months.

Land Rover saw its China sales surge 63% from a year earlier for the Jan.-Jun. period. To be specific, the year-to-date sales of the Land Rover Discovery Sport amounted to 12,743 units, soaring 73% over the previous year. The sales of the all-new Land Rover Evoque, the Range Rover Sport, and the Range Rover zoomed up 46%, 44%, and 50% respectively.

Jaguar brand scored a 26% year-over-year growth in its first-half China sales. The sales of the China-made XFL and XEL shoot up 51% and 37%.

At the Auto Shanghai 2021, Jaguar Land Rover unveiled several new models to better satisfy Chinese consumers' demands. For instance, the all-new Jaguar XFL flagship sedan made its world's debut; the all-new Jaguar F-PACE and the all-new Land Rover Defender 90 hit the market; the all-new Land Rover Defender 110 V8 was firstly seen by viewers in China.

On June 15, the all-new Land Rover Evoque L made its world's premiere with its presale kicking off at the same time. Presale prices range from 390,000 yuan ($60,310) to 480,000 yuan ($74,230).
