Li Auto unveils new Li ONE, expects monthly delivery to reach 10,000 soon

Beijing (ZXZC)- Li Auto, an innovator in China’s new energy vehicle market, unveiled the latest version of the Li ONE, its only vehicle model for sale currently, with improvements in powertrain system, driving assistance system, intelligent cockpit, and user experience.

The price of the standard 2021 Li ONE stands at RMB 338,000 (about 52,762 dollars), with black, white, silver and grey body-color options while the Baby Blue, Tech Blue and Deep Green ones are priced at RMB 348,000 (about 54,323 dollars). The delivery will start from June 1.

With a mission to create homes on the move that bring happiness to the entire family, the updated vehicle features longer range, standardized advanced driving assistance system, and much more comfortable in-vehicle experience, which all help owners have happy and convenient family trip.

The 2021 Li ONE is 5,030 mm long and 1,785 high, 10 mm longer and 25 mm higher than the current model, which make the new version much more spacious. Besides, the 2021 Li ONE will not offer 7-seat version to give much more room for users.

Thanks to the optimization in the powertrain, the new version features a maximum NEDC range of 1,080 km, increasing by 200 km, and a maximum WLTC range of 890 km. Under the pure battery mode, the NEDC range can be up to 188 km. What’s more, the vehicle can serve as a power source, which can be used to charge other appliances or vehicles.

The 2021 new vehicle has full-stack self-developed advanced driving assistance system, standard with NOA navigation assistance function. In computing power, the 2021 Li ONE is equipped with two Journey 3 chips from local semiconductor company Horizon Robotics.

Since the very beginning of the model’s delivery, Li Auto has delivered a total of 51,575 vehicles by the end of April. In the first four months of this year, the average monthly delivery of the Li ONE surpassed 4,500 units. According to Shen Yanan, director and president of Li Auto, the automaker expects its monthly delivery to reach 10,000 units in September.

In an interview, Li Xiang, founder, chairman and CEO of the company, revealed that his company will invest more in R&D, thanks to the proceeds from the public offering. In 2021, its R&D investment will be up to RMB 3 billion, about 10% of the company’s revenue. Its autonomous vehicle team staff will be doubled to 600 from 300 at present.

Unlike NIO and Xpeng, which sell sedan models, Li Auto will not launch any sedan product, Li Xiang said in the interview. The company’s next-generation SUV will be equipped with NVIDIA Orin chips and will come standard with Lidars.
