Chery Holding sees Jan.-Apr. sales soar 91.6% year on year
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chery Holding announced on Thursday its new vehicle sales in April 2021 zoomed up 91.6% from a year earlier to 76,775 units. For the first four months of the year, the group sold roughly 282,000 vehicles in total, representing a year-on-year leap of 91.6% as well.

To be specific, Chery Automobile saw its April sales shoot up 117.2% from the previous year to 53,680 units. At the Auto Shanghai 2021, the automaker launched the “Chery 4.0 Era Full-domain Power Architecture”, under which the fuel-burning and hybrid solutions are named “Kunpeng Power CHERY POWER”.

Jetour gained a year-on-year hike of 80.5% in April by selling 10,399 new vehicles. Last month, the Jetour X70 PLUS Zhuge Edition hit the market with three trim levels priced from 139,900 yuan ($21,645) to 152,900 yuan ($23,660). At the same time, Jetour announced it will team up with Huawei to build a joint lab dedicated to researching and developing the application of 5G-enabled communications technologies in autonomous driving business.
Thanks to the rising demands of the Cowin Showjet and the 2021 Cowin X3, Cowin witnessed its April sales vigorously grew 44.7% from the year-ago period to 1,477 units.
Additionally, Chery Holding's NEV sales in April rocketed 214.6% over a year ago to 8,572 units.
In overseas markets, Chery Holding also achieved a robust sales performance. In the Jan.-Apr. period, the group exported 75,475 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 137%. Of those, 22,034 units were exported last month, representing a high growth of up to 312.5%.
The group's full-year car export volume for 2021 is expected to surpass 200,000 units, said Chery Holding.
