Great Wall Motor sees Q1 2021 sales shoot up 125.37% YoY
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Great Wall Motor (GWM) sold 338,798 new vehicles in the first quarter of 2021 (Q1), posting a robust growth of 125.4% compared to the previous year.
Four brands all scored year-on-year growth of over 90% in Q1 sales. Notably, the growth rate in ORA's sales volume stood at up to 1035.2%.
In March, the automaker also boasted an 84.4% leap by selling 110,736 vehicles. As for the monthly sales, ORA was still the fastest-growing brand.

Haval brand sold 67,187 vehicles (+66.6% YoY) last month, which resulted in a sales volume of 222,728 units (+110% YoY) for the Q1. The sales of the Haval H6 and M6 reached 34,865 and 12,335 units in March, up by 71.6% and 44.2% respectively over a year earlier.
Besides, Haval also sold 22,650 Big Dog SUVs through the first quarter. The top-spec 2.0T Haval Big Dog will hit the market at the forthcoming Auto China 2021.

WEY, GWM's premium SUV brand, saw its Q1 sales zoom up 163% year over year to 25,999 units, of which 8,499 units were sold last month.
The sales of the Tank 300, the first model based on the WEY Tank platform, totaled 14,323 units in the first three months. According to GWM, Tank will be launched as an independent brand at the Auto China 2021.

GWM's pickup unit sold 22,001 vehicles in March, achieving a 43.3% vigorous growth year over year and still accounting for nearly 50% of the country's total pickup sales. The sales of the Great Wall Poer pickup reached 12,085 units, surging 120% over the year-ago period.
The automaker said its Q1 sales of overseas markets rocketed 115% from a year ago to 28,810 units, of which 6,558 units were sold in Russia, a year-on-year increase of 62%.
