In light of intelligent facilities, the ID.4 X is equipped with an AR-HUD that projects the navigation information in the images of real world. The SUV is also armed with the ID. Light in which Volkwagen developed it as a new way for the vehicle to communicate with its passengers. The ID. Light is a thin line of 54 multi-colored LEDs at the windshield behind the cockpit, and is engineered to help keep the driver focusing on the road while giving key feedback.

Moreover, the vehicle is expected to have OTA (over-the-air) upgrades in the future to make online functional improvements available.

The all-electric SUV can be charged to 80% from 30% of its battery capacity within 30 minutes. It features a range of 555km under the NEDC test cycle.
