Changan Automobile logs 465.28% YoY hike in Feb. sales
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. (Changan Automobile) said its monthly sales reached 162,708 units in Feb., zooming up 465.82% from a year ago. Its year-to-date sales also surged 153.89% to 414,688 units.
All subsidiaries scored year-on-year growth of over 160% in Feb. sales. Notably, the growth achieved by Hefei Changan and Chongqing Changan stood at up to 579.23% and 872.84% respectively. Changan Ford was the slowest-growing one, while its Feb. sales still more than doubled over the year-ago period.
The company said the sales of its self-owned brands amounted to 139,488 units last month, up by 591.8% from the previous year. Of those, 103,894 units were passenger vehicles (PVs), a year-over-year surge of 621%.

Regarding specific models, the sales of the CS75, the CS55 and the CS35 SUVs in February reached 32,697 units, 10,238 units and 7,023 units respectively. During the same period, the automaker also sold 15,043 Eado and 2037 Ruicheng CC sedans. Besides, there were 7,038 UNI-Ts, the first model of Changan's premium car sequence “Yinli” (meaning “Gravity” in English”), sold last month.

Changan Ford and Changan Mazda sold 10,932 and 6,289 new vehicles in February. Some industry insiders thought Changan's joint ventures are representing resilient sales after Changan Ford rolled out the models like the Escape and the Explorer and Lincoln kicked off the localization progress in China, and are expected to gain good sales this year.
As to global business, a total of 10,775 vehicles under Changan's self-owned brands were sold outside China last month.
