Patent images of Evergrande’s seven-seater MPV Hengchi 4 leaked
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Evergrande announced in August 2020 first six models to be offered under the Henchi brand. They are numbered rather simply from 1 to 6 (Hengchi 1 to Hengchi 6) and include various body styles from sedans to SUVs and a MPV, namely the Hengchi 4.
As the only luxury MPV model, the Hengchi 4 features a seven-seater arrangement. The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) released its patent images, which stay true to the rendering published via a Chinese media platform. Unlike the traditional MPVs like the Buick GL8 and the Honda Odyssey, the Hengchi highlights stronger futuristic and sporty sense.

According to Evergrande Auto, the Hengchi 4 was drawn by Anders Warming, former chief design at BMW MINI and Borgward, who is also the designer of the Hengchi 1 and Hengchi 2 sedans.

According to the patent images and the rendering, the Hengchi 4 adopts a closed-off grille that is quite trendy for all-electric vehicles. When the lighting is on, a light strip runs across the front end to link the headlights to each other. Below the headlight is a grid designed to mimic the shape of the grille seen in traditional fuel-burning cars.

As to the side profile, the streamlined roof accentuates the length of the MPV. The large-sized multi-spoke wheels also contribute to the vehicle's sports essence.
The rear design is clean and uncluttered. The taillight cluster stretching across the rear is in tone with that of the front.
The details about the powertrain and range, and the time to begin mass production have not been announced yet.
