With a total of 199 patents, the new hybrid system is solely designed and developed by GWM. In the future, the company will launch hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) and plug-in electric vehicles (PHEVs) based on the “L.E.M.O.N. hybrid DHT”.

GWM said the new hybrid solution can be used in a great deal of mobility scenarios, including the low-/mid-speed trips in urban roads, long-time parking, high-speed/ urban beltways. It is designed to offer users more comfortable driving experience with lower fuel consumption and greater power.

The “L.E.M.O.N. hybrid DHT” is composed of a hybrid system, two power architectures and three powertrains.

Speaking of the hybrid system, the “L.E.M.O.N. hybrid DHT” features a number of operational models, such as all-electric, series-parallel hybrid, series and energy recovery under a dual-motor hybrid topological structure. It can achieve the balance between high efficiency and high performance at full range of speeds and in all travelling scenarios.

Riding on the hybrid system, the “L.E.M.O.N. hybrid DHT” comes with two power architectures, namely HEV and PHEV. The HEV scheme focuses on fuel economy and instantaneous acceleration, and offers a combined power efficiency of over 50%. Under the HEV architecture, the combined fuel consumption of an A-segment SUV can reach 4.6L/100km. In actual tests, a B-segment SUV using the HEV solution can zip from 0-100km/h within only 7.5s, 1.5s shorter than the average level.

The PHEV scheme is dedicated to easing range anxiety, under which a car's EV-only range can be up to 200km.

The three powertrains include the “1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine plus DHT (dedicated hybrid transmission) 100” and the “1.5-liter turbocharged engine plus DHT130” under both the HEV and PHEV architectures. The other one is the four-wheel-drive “1.5T + DHT130+ P4” solution under the PHEV-only structure.
