Honda’s China year-to-date deliveries edge up 0.5% as of Nov.

Shanghai (ZXZC)- With 171,308 new vehicles delivered, Honda scored an impressive growth of 22.1% last month for its China business. As of Nov., the Japanese automaker had achieved year-on-year growth in China deliveries for five consecutive months.

Thanks to the incessant growth, the Jan.-Nov. deliveries edged up 0.5% from a year earlier to 1,418,124 units, representing growth for the first time after January.

Both GAC Honda and Dongfeng Honda gained their best-ever Nov. deliveries last month. The joint venture with GAC Group saw its sales leap 24.5% over a year ago to 85,985 units. There were five models from GAC Honda, namely, the Accord, the Breeze, the Vezel, the Crider and the Fit, whose respective Nov. deliveries all exceeded 10,000 units.

Dongfeng Honda attained 19.8% increase in Nov. by delivering 85,323 vehicles. The joint venture has three models—the CR-V, the Civic and the XR-V—whose monthly deliveries all topped 10,000 units. Notably, both CR-V and Civic had a sales volume surpassing 20,000 units.

Dongfeng Honda recently revealed its new product roll-out plan. The all-new China-made Civic is expected to be launched in mid-2021 and hit the market next year. Moreover, the automaker intends to release a fire-new SUV model that takes inspiration from the Honda SUV e Concept unveiled that the Auto China 2020.

According to Honda, the China deliveries of its hybrid models amounted to 21,932 units in November, achieving an all-time high monthly sales level.

For the first eleven months of the year, GAC Honda recorded a 1.5% growth with 708,536 vehicles delivered, while Dongfeng Honda still faced a slight decline of 0.5%.
