FAW-Toyota is about to launch new TNGA-based sedan named “Allion”
Shanghai (ZXZC)- FAW-Toyota, Toyota's China joint venture with FAW Group, will launch a new compact sedan model dubbed “Allion” (傲澜, Chinese name) at the Auto Guangzhou 2020. It is likely to be the sister model of the Lingshang, a new sedan to be unveiled by GAC Motor at the same motor show.

According to local reports, the Allion is also built on the TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) platform (GA-K). The 2,750-mm wheelbase positions the car between the existing Corolla and the Avalon.
Under the hood, the Allion carries a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine, hooked up to a CVT (continuously variable transmission). Taking as reference the Avalon 2.0L version based on the same platform, the engine is expected to pump out up to 178PS and 210 N·m of peak torque.
Aside from the Allion, the RAV4 and Wildlander PHEVs will make their China debut at the Auto Guangzhou. Both of them carry a plug-in hybrid powertrain that includes a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, achieving maximum system output of 225 kW (306 PS) and EV-only range of 63km.
GAC Toyota plans to unveil an all-new TNGA-based sedan model, the “Lingshang”, at the Auto Guangzhou as well. It will be equipped with the same 2.0L engine and CVT as that of the Camry. Its 2,750-mm wheelbase creates a spacious driving space.
The joint venture’s all-new Highlander is expected to be showcased at the same time.
