Beijing Hyundai delivers 48,000 vehicles in Oct.

Beijing (ZXZC)- Beijing Hyundai delivered 48,000 vehicles in October, the best monthly results of this year. Compared with the previous month, the joint venture achieved a sales growth of 15.3%.

Many models, such as the new-generation ix35 and the new Celesta saw substantial delivery increase last month. As a major SUV product of the joint venture, the new-generation ix35 had a delivery volume of 8,155 units, up by 23% compared to the previous month.

Deliveries of the seventh-generation Elantra, which hit the market in October, reached 11,037 units. The newest Elantra, built on Hyundai’s i-GMP platform, offers six variants in China with a price range of RMB99,800 to RMB141,800. To spur the sales, Beijing Hyundai introduced a program, under which the down payment can be as low as RMB10,000. At the very day when the model hit the market, the automaker got nearly 1,000 orders.

In new energy vehicle segment, Beijing Hyundai plans to launch one or two new models every year in the future. At the first half of next year, the battery electric version of the new Mistra will hit the market. And the automaker is expected to introduce the e-GMP platform, which will give updates in powertrain system and battery. The first model based on the platform is reported to go on sale at the end of next year or at the beginning of 2022.
