Shanghai (ZXZC)- Lynk & Co, a Chinese-Swedish auto brand owned by Geely Auto Group, officially put the Lynk & Co 06 onto the market on September 6. Offered in five variants at one go, the new SUV model is priced at a range of 118,600 yuan (17,364) to 158,600 yuan ($23,221).

With dimensions of 4,340mm length, 1,820mm width, 1,625mm height and a wheelbase of 2,640mm, the Lynk & Co 06 plays in the league of small-sized SUVs. It is built on the BMA platform, a modular architecture for B-Segment compact cars solely developed by Geely Auto. Models using the BMA architecture can be equipped with Geely's 1.0TD, 1.4T, 1.5TD, along with hybrid powertrain systems such as PHEV, HEV, or MHEV. Other BMA-based models include the Geely Binyue and the ICON, which feature similar measurements to that of the Lynk & Co 06.

As the smallest one in Lynk & Co's SUV range, the Lynk & 06 features a younger and sportier exterior styling. Retaining Lynk & Co's signature design language, the 06 adopts daytime running lights inspired by the “Aurora Borealis” and the split-type headlights, which are quite conspicuous. The black trim at the grill of the fuel-burning version draws on the design of the Lynk & Co 05.

The powerful and sporty nature of the 06's side profile is highlighted by the straight character lines, the floating roof and the dual-five-spoke rims. The two-tone design of the trim also adds volume to the vehicle's personality.

At the rear, the Y-shaped taillight cluster is seamlessly connected by a trim where a lettering “Lynk & Co” is centrally located. The rear bumper coupled with a silvery mudguard further elevates the sense of sports.

The modern interior featuring a fully digital instrument panel, large-sized central display and the avant-garde polygonal elements also makes the Lynk & Co look a bit sportier and youthful than its siblings.

Customers will be able to equip the 06 with options like a parking camera, rear parking sensors, fog lamps, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, and other facilities.

The Lynk & Co 06 offers three powertrain solutions: a fuel-burning engine, a plug-in hybrid and a mild hybrid system. The first is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged unit rate at 177PS (130kW) and 265 N·m of peak torque, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The plug-in hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with an 82PS electric motor and a ternary-lithium battery pack. The MHEV version carries a 1.5T engine assisted by a 48-volt mild hybrid system, producing a combined 190PS and 300 N·m (Lynk & Co 06, photo source: Lynk & Co).
