Former Ford’s management talent named Commerce VP of Hyundai China

Shanghai (ZXZC)- Li Hongpeng, a former senior executive of Ford Motor, has been appointed as Vice President of Commerce of Hyundai Motor Group (China) Ltd., managing Hyundai's China strategic planning and market expansion business, the South Korean automaker announced on June 30 via its Sina Weibo account.

Effective July 1, 2020, Mr. Li will directly report to President of Hyundai Motor Group (China) Ltd. In the new capacity, he will fully take charge of the implementation of Hyundai brand's China development and product strategies, and other businesses like marketing, after-sale service, dealerships as well as public relations.

“We believe that Mr. Li's participation will help Hyundai China, Beijing Hyundai and Dongfeng-Yueda-Kia further improve their sales performance and brand familiarity in China,” said Hyundai Motor.

With 28-year management experience in automobile industry, Li Hongpeng had served several global automobile brands such as Mercedes-Benz and Ford. In 2013, he started assuming the role of Senior Executive Vice President of Beijing Mercedes-Benz Sales Service Co.,Ltd., seeing China become the German brand's largest single market worldwide. During this career, he also made substantial contribution to the form of a highly efficient national distribution network with an outstanding profitability and the stable growth of Mercedes-Benz's China sales.

Mr. Li joined Ford Motor in 2018, serving as Ford's Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Greater China and President of Changan Ford's National Distribution Services Division (NDSD). Playing an important role in Ford's China branding construction and marketing business, he had vigorously boosted the expansion of distribution channels, and the integration and development of marketing businesses.
