Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geely's all-new SUV "Haoyue" hit the market on June 23 with its price range—103,600 yuan ($14,667) to 139,600 yuan ($19,764)—announced at the same time.

The measurement of 4,835mm*1,900mm*1,780mm and a wheelbase of 2,815mm put the Haoyue squarely in the mid-sized SUV segment, making it similarly sized to the Toyota Highlander and the Ford Edge. It has a ground clearance of 190mm, which offers the vehicle an ability to adjust itself to various Chinese-spec road conditions.

At the front, the "Haoyue" still adopts Geely's signature design language of "expanding cosmos", while the new black badge adds volume to the vehicle's personality. The U-shaped grille "expands" to a pair of rectangular LED headlights with inverted L-shaped daytime running lights, creating a multi-layered feeling and underlining the front's width.

In terms of the side profile, the vehicle looks quite sporty and masculine thanks to the high center of gravity and the muscle lines at bulging wheel arches. The straight and flat roof implies a spacious headroom for passengers.

At the rear, a chrome-plate trim stabs into the taillights on the both sides, which is quite a trendy design.

In the cockpit, an occupant will find a center console whose resemblance to that of the ICON SUV is apparent. The usage of a massive floating display at the center console, a liquid crystal dashboard display and an electronic gear selector appeals to tech-savvy consumers. The air-conditioning vent is shaped like an infinity loop (∞), which is scattered around in the ICON. The Haoyue will be available in either 5-seat or 7-seat configuration.

Powering the Haoyue is a 1.8-liter turbocharged inline-four engine that is rated at 135kW with a peak torque of 300 N·m, hooked up to a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic transmission) (photo source: Geely Auto's WeChat account).
