Geely Jiaji MPV’s refreshed version goes on sale with starting price of 94,800 yuan
Shanghai (ZXZC)- The 2021 Jiaji, the refreshed version of Geely's first MPV model—the Jiaji, formally hit the market on May 25. Guiding prices range from 94,800 yuan ($13,280) to 159,800 yuan ($22,385), covering five fossil-fuel powered variants and a plug-in hybrid one.
The front design cues on the new MPV includes Geely's signature “cosmos” grille coupled with a silvery V-shaped chrome. The daytime running lights consist of four vertical light slats on each side and the black Geely badge located at the exact center convey a multi-layered essence.
The side profile reveals that the 2020 Jiaji still retains the “floating” roof that tapers down to meet a small-sized tailgate-mounted spoiler.
At the rear, the taillights are linked by a chrome-plated trim, accentuating the MPV’s width. In addition, the hidden exhaust pipes are inherited from the existing model.
The fuel-burning version measures 4,706mm long, 1,909mm wide and 1,690 tall, 23mm shorter than the PHEV in terms of height. The wheelbase spans 2,805mm.
An occupant can see a massive panorama sunroof above his head when sitting in the cockpit. The dashboard features a wraparound design with a 12.3-inch “floating” liquid crystal display at the center. Moreover, the three-spoke steering wheel and the well-designed ambiance lamps render an upscale sense.
Compared to the outgoing model, the biggest differences rest upon the introduction of the I-SOFA zero-pressure seats, the CN95 air filter, the air quality system and the negative ion generator. Other niceties include Geely’s upgraded GKUI19 smart ecosystem, the intelligent vehicle-home connectivity system and the lifetime free offering of IoV data.
The 2021 Jiaji is available for four types of powertrain—a 1.8-liter turbocharged diesel engine (TD) paired with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT), a 1.5-liter TD fitted with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 1.5-liter TD working with a mild hybrid system and a 7-speed DCT, and a hybrid power system includes a 1.5TD with a 7-speed DCT (2021 Geely Jiaji, photo source: Geely Auto's WeChat account).
