Lynk & Co’s 05 coupe SUV hit the market with price starting at RMB175,800
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Lynk & Co, a premium car brand jointly built by Geely and Volvo Cars, formally put an all-new coupe SUV—the Lynk & Co 05—onto the market on May 5, said the automaker. Offered in five variants in total, the new model is priced from RMB175,800 to RMB212,800.
The Lynk & Co 05's front face still retains Lynk & Co family's iconic design language. Above a grille that is seamlessly flanked by headlights, there are Lynk & Co's signature daytime running lights. Large-sized air-breathers are next to the bumper. Two prominent muscle lines on the engine hood render an aggressive stance.
The body side features typical coupe design and fancy belt lines as well as seemingly shutter design employed at the D-pillars to create a sense of sport.
At the rear end, taillights are embedded with a cluster of horizontally-installed LED lamps rather than vertically-installed crystal lamps for other models. A silver trim stretches across a black panel and taillights. The 05 packs an exhaust layout with a single pipe on each side.
Based on the CMA (Compact Modular Architecture) platform jointly developed by Volvo and Geely, the Lynk & Co 05 could be regarded as the coupe version of the Lynk & Co 01 SUV. The new model measures 4,592mm long, 1,879mm wide and 1,628mm tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,734mm.
The sporty interior is obviously different from the existing models under Lynk & Co with plenty of sharp angles and contrast stitching. Besides, the Lynk & Co 05 will come with a D-shaped three-spoke multifunctional steering wheel and a 12.7-inch touchscreen at the center console, along with the newly-designed electronic gear selector to make the internal space full of power.
The driving energy comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that pumps out 254PS and 350N·m of torque. Besides, the transmission is taken care of by an 8-speed AMT. Thanks to the powertrain and the aerodynamic design, the 05 is able to zip from zero to 100km/h within 6.7 seconds (Lynk & Co 05, photo source: Lynk & Co).
