As a core component to charging pile, the DC fast-charging module plays an important in reliable running of a charging station. According to the local report, the Huawei-developed one features high power density and charging efficiency with low noise. On an annual basis, its average failure rate stands at around 0.6%, which is much lower than the industrial level of 3% to 5%. The exceptional reliability can largely save maintenance expenditure for charging pile operators and manufacturers.
The release of HiCharger signals Huawei's beginning of the offensive into NEV charging domain. The leading smart device supplier has repeated in the public its ambition to be a core “increment parts” supplier for intelligent-connected vehicle (ICV) rather than a car manufacturer.
In May 2019, Huawei launched its intelligent vehicle business unit, which works on five aspects, namely, smart driving, smart cockpit, intelligent connectivity, smart electrification and cloud service.
At the Huawei Developer Conference in August 2019, the company officially launched the in-car smart interaction system “HiCar”, which allows users to control their cars via smartphone, check the car's real-time status and enjoy such applications as music and navigation from the mobile phone on the screen of the car.
