Shanghai (ZXZC)- Geometry, the BEV-focused brand of Geely Auto, is trying to gain more consumers by means of various incentive policies. To ease consumers’ worries over the product resale value, the brand recently announced a set of measures that allow buyers to sell their cars to the automaker at 70% of the original purchase price after a two-year service life.

To be specific, a consumer can drive a Geometry A BEV home at as low as RMB79,900—the guiding post-subsidy should be at least RMB150,000. After that, he should pay RMB1,999 per month to the seller for two years. During this period, he has the right to use the battery and free data, and can enjoy such free services as charging and roadside assistance.

After service life expires, the buyer will have three optional approaches to handle the car.

First, he can sell the car to the automaker at 70% of the initial buying price, and then get a new vehicle branded Geely, Lynk & Co, or Geometry. It is worth mentioning that the price excludes that of the battery pack.

The residual value is one of issues that make people hesitate to buy BEVs. What Geometry offers may promote potential buyer to make decision.

Second, the consumer can completely own the car by paying another RMB29,999, which is used to buyout the battery ownership.

The last approach is also designed for those who want to wholly possess the car. The consumer can continue using the car by paying RMB2,499 per month for one year, and the car will afterwards become his self-owned property.
