The Denza N9 is a six-seat hybrid SUV that is 5,258 mm long and powered by three electric motors.

Denza, the premium new energy vehicle (NEV) brand of BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY), has made a filing for its new model, the Denza N9 SUV (sport utility vehicle), bringing core specifications to light.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) today released its latest catalog of models that will be allowed to be sold for public comment, and the Denza N9 is included.

The public can submit their feedback between October 16 and 22. Entry into the catalog is the last major regulatory process by which a model can be allowed to be sold in China.

The Denza N9 has only one page in the catalog, with product model number QCJ6530ABHEV1, and is manufactured at BYD's production sites in Changsha, Hunan province; Hefei, Anhui province; Jinan, Shandong province; Zhengzhou, Henan province; and Shenzhen, Guangdong province.

The six-seat plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) measures 5,258 mm in length, 2,030 mm in width and 1,830 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,125 mm.

The Denza N9 weighs 3,130/3,245 kilograms and supports a top speed of 230 kilometers per hour.

The model is powered by three electric motors, with the front motor having a peak power of 200 kW and the two motors at the back both having 240 kW.

It also has an engine with a displacement of 1995 ml and 152 kW of power output.

Denza started previewing the model earlier this week by sharing two images on its Weibo account showing that the model has large dimensions.

The brand's head of sales, Zhao Changjiang, said on October 11 on Weibo that the SUV will be powered by BYD's e3 technology, which can be seen as a scaled-down version of BYD's e⁴ technology for ultra-luxury cars, bringing tri-motor independent drive with dual-motor independent steering at the rear wheels.

Denza launched the Z9GT on September 20 with a starting price of RMB 334,800 ($47,290), the first model to feature e3 technology.
