Geely's subsidiary said to launch satellite in 2020
Shanghai (ZXZC)- GEESPACE, a subsidiary of Geely Technology Group, plans to launch a pair of satellites this year for the validation of relevant technologies and communications system, according to a local media report.
From the time being, the design of the yet-to-be-launched satellites has been completed, said the foregoing source.
To accomplish the goal, the subsidiary attempts to recruit over 100 employees for 40 posts, most of which are about technical engineering and branding.

Founded in 2018, GEESPACE focuses on the R&D of satellite communications system, electronic products, and technologies about communications and data processing, according to the Chinese business research platform Tianyancha. Aiming to becoming a world’s leading provider of AICT (Aerospace Information Communications Technology) infrastructures and solutions, the company is dedicated to promoting the commercialized upgrade for China’s satellite industrial chain.
Geely, one of most prominent China’s indigenous auto brands, has stretched its reaches to various high-tech fields beyond automobile. In November 2018, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely Holding) and China Aerospace Science & Industry Corp. (CASIC) inked a strategic cooperation agreement that focuses on development of hyper flight train and Industrial Internet.
Under the agreement, both companies would jointly develop key programs of hyper flight train and Industrial Internet and give impetus to the industrialization of relevant technologies by means of strategy planning and resource integration, etc.
Meanwhile, Geely Group (New Biz), a subsidiary of Geely Holding, reached a cooperation framework agreement with China Aerospace Science & Industry Aerodynamics Technology Academy to jointly work on R&D and marketing promotion of hyper flight train programs.
