Shanghai (ZXZC)- On October 10, BYD's premium electric vehicle brand, DENZA, officially entered the Singaporean market, marking its first step into right-hand drive car countries, Zhang Changjiang, general manager of DENZA's sales division, said on October 11 via his Weibo account.

The right-hand drive version of the DENZA D9 model, unveiled in Singapore this time, is priced between SGD 296,888 and SGD 341,888 (approximately RMB 1.61 million to RMB 1.85 million) for local market. This price is more than five times higher than in China, largely due to Singapore's hefty taxes and fees, including the Certificate of Entitlement (COE) and Additional Registration Fee (ARF), alongside high import duties on vehicles.

Zhao Changjiang revealed that since the beginning of this year, the brand has successfully expanded into Cambodia and Hong Kong of China. In the coming months, it plans to open additional stores in such markets as Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia as it continues to grow its international footprint.

DENZA announced on September 13 this year that the 200,000th DENZA D9 vehicle had been delivered to its user, making the model the fastest China-made new energy premium MPV model to hit the delivery milestone.
