NETA Auto's Indonesia plant rolls off first NETA X vehicle
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On September 13, NETA Auto announced that the first NETA X vehicle manufactured at its eco-smart factory in Indonesia rolled off the production line. This marks the second model produced at the Indonesia plant, following the NETA V-II, and the second vehicle NETA has manufactured overseas.

The milestone is part of a broader push towards localized production, which NETA Auto has been pursuing in partnership with PT Handal Indonesia Motor. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding on July 26, 2023, to collaborate on local manufacturing efforts.
Earlier this year, in March, NETA Auto began moving closer to its localization goals when the Indonesian factory received its first batch of production equipment.
With production officially beginning in June 2024, the Indonesian factory can now manufacture up to 30,000 vehicles annually. It is NETA’s second smart factory in Southeast Asia, with 44% of the production processes localized and more than 90% of the workforce comprised of local employees.
According to NETA Auto, the rollout of the NETA X signifies the imminent market launch of this model in Indonesia. Moving forward, the company aims to continue expanding its presence in the Indonesian and broader Southeast Asian markets through deeper investments in local production.
In addition to the production facility in Indonesia, the carmaker has also deployed smart eco-factories in Thailand and Malaysia.
