Beijing (ZXZC)- On August 22, Xiaomi's Founder, Chairman, and CEO Lei Jun revealed that the mass-produced version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, a racing prototype based on the SU7’s all-electric platform, is set to be launched in the first quarter of 2025.

Initially expected to debut in the first half of 2025, this announcement signals a faster production timeline for Xiaomi EV, a move seen by industry experts as a strategic step to reduce costs swiftly.

Lei Jun also mentioned that Xiaomi EV is considering equipping the SU7 Ultra with a "novice mode" upon release. This mode would require owners to gradually unlock the vehicle's full performance potential through a series of tests. Notably, the SU7 Ultra prototype achieved a top speed exceeding 350 km/h on the final straight of the Nürburgring track.

According to previous information, the SU7 Ultra's core hardware and body structure are independently designed and developed by Xiaomi EV, including the in-house developed V8s super motor, thermal management system, electric drive controller, and battery controller.

The prototype boasts a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 1.97 seconds and a 0-200 km/h time of 5.96 seconds, with a top speed surpassing 350 km/h. The mass-produced SU7 Ultra model will share the same chassis, motor, and battery pack as the prototype, featuring a tri-motor setup with 1,548 horsepower. However, due to cost considerations, the mass-produced version will not feature a full carbon design and will be equipped with CATL’s second-generation Qilin battery.
