BYD, a leading global EV manufacturer, and Uber, which boasts the most widely available on-demand EV network in the world, will work together to promote the adoption of EVs. The partnership will begin in Europe and Latin America, gradually extending to regions including the Middle East, Australia, and New Zealand. This will enable more passengers worldwide to experience environmentally friendly travel options.

To encourage more drivers to switch to EVs, both companies are considering offering incentives such as charging discounts, vehicle maintenance, and insurance benefits. Additionally, financing and leasing options tailored to specific markets are set to be provided. BYD said its diverse range of EVs, known for their exceptional range and superior craftsmanship, are positioned as ideal choices for shared mobility services.

BYD Chairman and President Wang Chuanfu expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, "BYD and Uber are both committed to innovation and building a cleaner, greener world. I am delighted that BYD can join forces with Uber to advance towards this future."

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi shared similar sentiments, highlighting the environmental impact, "We are thrilled to allow more people globally to experience the benefits of driving electric vehicles. When an Uber driver switches to an EV, the emissions reduction is four times greater than that of an average driver due to the longer hours he drives. This deep collaboration with BYD is exciting as it aims to enhance user experience and create social value."
