Geely Binyue Super Power Edition official images revealed, price may start at 8,300 USD
On June 14, Geely released the official pictures of its Binyue Super Power Edition gasoline-powered SUV. The launch is expected to happen in July with an estimated price tag of around 60,000 yuan (8,300 USD).
The Geely Binyue was first launched in 2018. In the six years since its launch, nearly 890,000 units have been sold globally, according to Geely.
The Geely Binyue Super Power Edition is built on Geely’s B-segment Modular Architecture (BMA) platform, positioned as a compact SUV. At this time, the dimensions of the new car have not been announced. For reference, the current model on sale measures 4330/1800/1609 mm, with a 2600 mm wheelbase.
Compared to the current model on sale, the Super Power Edition’s appearance remains unchanged. The front face is designed based on the Super Power Storm language with layered grilles: a smaller grille on the top and a larger trapezoidal grille on the bottom. The car runs on silver 17-inch multi-spoke aluminum alloy rims.
The rear features a hollow spoiler on the roof and hidden exhaust outlets. The through-type taillight is connected by a black trim embedded with the Geely English logo.
Power will come from a new 1.5TD direct injection engine, mated to a 5MT or a simulated 8-level CVT. The engine has a maximum power of 93 kW (126 hp) and a peak torque of 152 Nm. The WLTC fuel consumption is 6.89L/100km. For reference, the current model is equipped with a 1.5TD direct injection engine and mated to a 7DCT. It can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and has a WLTC fuel consumption of 6.35L/100km (WLTC working conditions).
Inside, the cockpit adopts a classic black and gray color scheme, paired with black leather seats, a leather multi-function four-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch central control screen, and an instrument panel.
Below the central control screen is the air-conditioner outlet and control knobs. On the center console is a yacht-style gear lever, numerous physical buttons, and cupholders.
Furthermore, the Geely Binyue Super Power Edition was spotted at the dealership in China recently, signifying its near launch date.
