Shanghai (ZXZC)- Recently, BYD successfully won the bid for Azerbaijan's government procurement project for electric buses, securing an order for 160 units of the 12-meter electric bus model K9UD, according to a post on BYD's WeChat account. Under the framework agreement, in addition to the order for 160 buses, the Azerbaijani government will also purchase 200 electric buses annually from BYD between 2025 and 2028, with plans for local assembly. In the future, both parties aim to deepen their cooperation in local production. This November, the 29th UN Climate Change Conference (COP29) will be held in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. These electric buses will support the COP29's green and low-carbon initiatives.

The BYD K9UD electric bus integrates BYD's advanced technologies related to batteries, electric motors, and electric control units, and a six-in-one controller, offering not only a low-carbon public transportation option but also enhancing the operational efficiency of urban buses. Its low-floor design and spacious interior provide a more comfortable travel experience for all passengers.

BYD mentioned that as early as 2010, it pioneered the "urban bus electrification" solution. To date, BYD's commercial vehicles, represented by electric buses, have made their mark in more than 70 countries and over 400 cities worldwide, including Amsterdam in the Netherlands, London in the UK, Tokyo in Japan, and São Paulo in Brazil, successfully delivering over 80,000 electric buses to clients.
