On January 23, Great Wall Motor’s Haval brand released more official images of its second-generation H9 SUV. Different from the previous images, the new car is painted white against a night background. The launch is expected to be in the first half of 2024.

The shape of the body is straight, featuring a large rectangular grille, traditional door handles, black roof racks, a panoramic sunroof, and 19-inch double six-spoke rims. The Haval letter logo is further embedded inside the grille.

Three dimensions are offered depending on the rear configuration, namely, an external spare tire or storage box:

• 5070/1976/1930 mm and 2850 mm wheelbase
• 4950/1960/1930 mm and 2850 mm wheelbase
• 5000/1976/1930 mm and 2850 mm wheelbase

Two seat layouts are available, 5-seater and 7-seater.

At the rear, the tailgate can be opened side way and the taillight groups on both sides are arranged vertically, showing an “8” shape. There is also a bottom-mounted spare tire.

Power will come from either a 165 kW/385 Nm 2.0T gasoline or 137 kW/480 Nm 2.4T diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed AT or 9-speed AT, respectively. The new car is also equipped with BorgWarner’s TOD (Torque-On-Demand) four-wheel drive system. Furthermore, the 2.0T version has a comprehensive fuel consumption of 10.7L/100km (WLTC). The new Haval h9’s approach and departure angles are 31° and 26°, respectively. Towing is also supported.

The second-gen Haval H9 might adopt the same interior style as that of the Haval Raptor. Based on the interior spy shot, it can be seen that the air-conditioning outlets are below the central control screen and the center console is occupied with various physical buttons.

Moreover, it is worth pointing out that the new Haval H9 was exposed in Russia in December 2023. This might be the overseas version. The powertrain remains consistent with a 2.0T gasoline engine and a 2.4T diesel engine, but does not have a four-wheel drive system.
