Shanghai (Gasoo)- FAW-Volkswagen (FAW-VW) plans to roll out nearly 30 new models in 2020 gathering joint efforts of three brands—Volkswagen, Audi and Jetta, according to a local media report.

Five of them are set to bear Volkswagen brand, including the Tayron Coupe, the Tayron GTE, the all-new Golf, the VW CC mid-cycle refresh and the VW CC Shooting Brake. Audi brand occupies up to 23 models, covering the new Audi Q7 and the China-built all-new Audi Q3 Sportback. Besides, the young sub-brand Jetta is set to put the VS7 onto the market this year.

The joint venture reported that its full-year auto sales (including the sales of imported vehicles) amounted to 2.1299 million units, of which 1.398 million units (+0.5%) and 688 thousand units (+4.2%) were respectively from VW and Audi brands. In addition, Jetta saw its sales total 43 thousand units after its first model hitting the market in last September.

Launched in last March as an individual sub-brand, Jetta has so far rolled out two models—the VS5 and VA3. As of December 2019, 300 auto dealers have been engaged in selling Jetta vehicles.

FAW-VW is ambitious to sell 2.325 million new vehicles during 2020—1.425 million units for VW brand, 700 thousand units for Audi and 20 thousand units for Jetta, according to Dong Xiuhui, president of FAW-VW’s sales company. The goal is set on the grounds of an expectation over this year’s PV market which might get a slight growth after “reaching its bottom” in 2019.
