On November 20, Sehol launched its X8 Plus in China with a price range of 99,800 – 139,800 RMB (14,500 – 20,300 USD). It is based on the standard X8 that is already on sale in the Chinese market. The car offers a three-row seat layout with 6-seat and 7-seat versions. The X8 Plus is a crossover SUV produced by JAC Motors (Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd.) under the Sehol brand.

Sehol claims that its X8 Plus was designed according to interviews and survey feedback from nearly 1,000 families to better tailor the car toward customers with big families.

The size of the car is 4825/1870/1758mm with a 2830mm wheelbase. The SUV features a high shoulder line and a roofline that slopes towards the rear. The window for the third row almost looks like a triangle and this only adds to the styling.

It looks like the entire front is covered by the grille. However, it is the LED lighting setup that gives out that illusion. The car features a split headlamp set up with the actual headlamps flanking the grille. The bottom half of the front looks fancy with a nice little lower lip in the bumper.

At the rear, the bumper gets a dual-tone design with faux exhaust tips flanking the skid plate. The ‘SEHOL’ logo is displayed above the taillight. The Chinese character ‘江淮集团’ (Jianghuai Automobile Group Corp., Ltd.) is displayed at the bottom rear left.

The interior adopts a dual 12.3-inch screen design and a four-spoke steering wheel. The 64-color ambient lights create a warm interior atmosphere. The seats are covered in white leather material.

The center console comes with two cup holders and a rotary gear shifter.

Other functions include smart text association, sound source positioning, and voice command.

In terms of safety, the Sehol X8 Plus is equipped with the HOL-Pilot level 2 driving assistance system that comes with Huawei’s millimeter-wave radar and supports adaptive cruise control, active emergency braking, and lane departure warning.

The sound system comes from 12 speakers, forming a 5.1. 2 surround sound network.

The six-seat layout is 2+2+2.

The seven-seat layout is 2+3+2.

The Sehol X8 Plus is powered by a 1.5L turbo-petrol engine that pushes out 181 hp and 300 Nm, matched with a 7-speed dual-clutch unit. Sehol claims that the X8 Plus has a transmission efficiency of 94.7% and fuel consumption of 7.9L per 100 km.
