Leapmotor puts C16 six-seater SUV onto market, starting at 155,800 yuan

Beijing (ZXZC)- On June 28, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor released its six-seater SUV, the C16, onto the market. The model comes in both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended (REEV) powertrains, available in six variants in total with a price range of 155,800 yuan to 185,800 yuan.

The Leapmotor C16 is positioned as a flagship mid-to-large-sized SUV, with dimensions of 4,915mm long, 1,905mm wide, 1,770mm tall, and a wheelbase of 2,825mm. Its overall size is similar to the company's other SUV, the five-seater C10.

In terms of power, the C16 REEV offers a battery-powered range of 200km and a combined range of 1,095km under CLTC conditions. The C16 BEV has a CLTC-rated range of 520km. Leapmotor claims that the C16 BEV models use an 800V silicon carbide fast-charging platform, with a maximum charging power of 180kW, allowing the battery to charge from 30% to 80% of its capacity in just 15 minutes.

Inside, the C16 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon SA8295P chip, providing 30TOPS of AI computing power. It also includes a 15.6-inch high-definition roof-mounted screen for rear passengers to enjoy onboard infotainment.

Notably, the Intelligent Driving version of the C16 is equipped with NVIDIA's Orin X chip and Hesai Technology's LiDAR, featuring a total of 30 sensors. Such a configuration is rare in the sub-200,000-yuan market.
