Shanghai (ZXZC)- On June 18th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Beijing Contemporary Amperex Battery Base project, which is jointly invested by CATL, BAIC Group, Jingneng Group, and Xiaomi Group, took place in Beijing, according to a post on CATL's WeChat account.

The Beijing Contemporary Amperex Battery Base project is designed to high standards as a "Lighthouse Factory" and a "Zero-Carbon Factory," utilizing CATL's most advanced high-speed, highly automated, and flexible production lines. Once completed, it will provide stable, mass-produced, high-quality battery products to automobile clients in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, including BAIC Group, Xiaomi, and Li Auto, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of their new energy vehicle products.

Additionally, CATL aims to bring more upstream and downstream enterprises in the industry chain to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, enhancing the overall competitiveness of the new energy vehicle supply chain ecosystem and contributing to local economic development.

In the future, CATL will continue to use leading technologies, products, and solutions to collaborate with Beijing in promoting the electrification of transportation and the construction of electric vehicle charging and battery swapping infrastructure. Together with BAIC Group, Jingneng Group, and Xiaomi Group, CATL will create a series of green, low-carbon, high-quality development "Beijing models," contributing to the creation of a globally competitive new energy industry cluster.

Since 2003, BAIC Group has been involved in the new energy vehicle industry, covering all aspects of R&D, production, and service.
