Wuling Jiachen 7-Seat MPV Launched In China, Starts At 10,200 USD

This is the new Wuling Jiachen, a 7-seater MPV under the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture. It was officially launched on June 15 with a price range of 68,800- 99,800 RMB (10,200-14,800 USD).

The Wuling Jiachen comes in five variants with a choice of four exterior colors, targeting consumers with families.

The size of the Wuling Jiachen is 4785/1820/1760mm, with a 2760mm wheelbase.

The front features a simple headlight design and a polygonal grille with V-shaped slats to mimic the logo and chrome decoration.

From the side, the waistline of the car extends from the A-pillar to the rear.

The interior of the car is wrapped with a large area of ​​leather material and is equipped with a 10.25-inch central screen and multifunction steering wheel with silver trim elements. On the center console are an airline-style gear selector, twin cupholders, a pair of small storage pots, and a USB socket. In terms of safety, the Wuling Jiachen comes with 4 airbags for the two front seats, electronic stability control, and Nexteer’s electric power steering system.

The vehicle’s Ling OS operating system supports vehicle status monitoring, remote switch air conditioning, and Bluetooth key sharing. Other features include voice command, keyless entry, one-button start, and an electronic handbrake.

The car adopts three rows in a 2+2+3 layout. The distance between each row is 80mm. The middle and rear seats have 800mm of leg space. The rear seat height is 322mm with the longitudinal space above the seat cushion at 952mm and the shoulder space at 1382mm.

Additionally, there are 23 storage spaces inside the car. The middle and rear rows are equipped with independent air conditioning outlets.

The rear seats can be flipped and tipped in a 60/40 split to make space for extra items if needed.

The Wuling Jiachen comes with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine with a maximum power of 147hp and a peak torque of 250Nm, matched with an 8-speed CVT gearbox. The engine comes from GM as indicated by the GM logo on the engine cover and made in China. The fuel efficiency is 7.2 liters/100 km.
