CATL, Guangzhou Public Transport ink agreement to boost vehicle electrification
Shanghai (ZXZC)- On May 17, Guangzhou Public Transport, CATL, CITL, Guangzhou Bus Group Transport Branch, and Guangzhou Yi Ma Contemporary Amperex Technology signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement at CATL's headquarters, according to a post on CATL's WeChat account.

According to the agreement, the five parties will collaborate extensively in various battery service areas, including vehicle electrification, automotive aftermarket services, business model innovation, supply chain finance, and new energy industry talent training. Their goal is to explore the integration of the automotive and new energy battery service industries, promote green and sustainable development in public road transport, and provide the public with higher quality, greener, and smarter travel services.
Guangzhou Public Transport, a large enterprise wholly owned by the Guangzhou Municipal Government, is a benchmark in public transportation and road transport in South China and a pioneer in V2X big data and travel service operations. Its business covers five core sectors, namely, urban public transport, taxi services, modern logistics, smart transportation, and the new energy transportation industry. It is currently operating nearly 27,000 vehicles, including buses, taxis, road passenger transport vehicles, and logistics freight vehicles, as well as 53 ships, with 179 bus charging stations under its management.
This signing marks an important step in the green, intelligent, and efficient transformation of the public road transport industry, said CATL. In the future, the battery giant will leverage its comprehensive industry chain layout and leading battery technology to work with Guangzhou Public Transport and other partners to promote the widespread application of new energy battery technology in public road transport.
