Hongqi says 2019 YTD sales exceed 100,000 units
Shanghai (ZXZC)- Hongqi, the premium car brand of FAW group, announced its 2019 cumulative sales have surpassed 100,000 units as of December 26, versus a sale volume of 33,028 units for the year of 2018.
The automaker said it has made all-round breakthroughs in branding, styling creativity, product R&D, technology innovation, vehicle quality and marketing service since the launch of all-new brand strategy in January, 2018. Through persistent endeavors to express more youth idea, Hongqi has rolled out several new models, such as the HS5 B-segment SUV and the HS7 C-segment SUV, and showed off the Hongqi E115 flagship full-size all-electric SUV and its first supercar S9.
To double the annual sales, Hongqi intends to enrich its product lineup by rolling out two new models in 2020, namely, the H9 flagship sedan and the aforementioned E115. Besides, the H5 series will be added with 1.5T and 2.0T versions, and the HS7 2.07T version will be launched as well, according to local media reports.
In fact, the Hongqi H9 is the all-new H7, which is scheduled to be unveiled on January 8, 2020, and is expected for mass production in next May. The new vehicle will be powered by a 4GC20TD third-generation engine, hooked up to a DCT400 dual-clutch transmission. The 0-100km/h sprint can be done within 8 seconds.
As for the Hongqi E115, the all-electric SUV grabbed the attention of many viewers at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show and Auto Guangzhou. It is said to offer a driving range of 600km and can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in under 4 seconds.
