HYCAN's first production model "007" priced from RMB260,000 for presale
Shanghai (ZXZC)- HYCAN, the EV brand launched by GAC NIO New Energy Automotive Co.,Ltd (GAC NIO), officially announced on December 27 its long-waited first mass-produced model is named “007”, and kicked off the vehicle presale at the same time.
Priced between RMB260,000 and RMB400,000, the “007” is offered in five variants in total. Of those, only 500 units of the “STARSHIP” will be supplied per year, and the “SUPREME” is available for the one-on-one tailor-made service.
HYCAN said the vehicle is scheduled for delivery in April, 2020.
The “007” features a closed-off grille that is popular among BEV models. Unlike the concept unveiled in May, the mass-produced one carries a cleaner internal grille structure. The daytime running lights are shaped like a pair of symmetrical “7s”.
The motif of the number “7” also appears in many other places, one of reasons the new car gets the name “007”. At a closer glance to a wheel, you will find a “7” located between two blue spokes.
According to HYCAN's introduction, the “007” features a unibody design, which means the vehicle's body and frame are one, similar to a metal cage. By largely using high-strength steel in the car body, the developer tries their best to protect drivers and the vehicle. The massive black panoramic sunroof is designed to satisfy the taste of the young generation.
The 7-shaped taillights are in tune with the front. Both headlights and taillights are embedded with LED light source.
The five-seater SUV measures 4,879mm long, 1,937mm wide and 1,680 mm tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,919mm.
The most eye-catching facility of the interior is the 7-shaped display composed of three screens. Besides, a series of devices are offered to protect people in the car, available for such functions as vital sign detection, fatigue driving monitoring, caring over the children on back seats and emergency call. The new vehicle also furnishes level 2 ADAS.
Powered by a NCM811 battery pack with a capacity of 93kWh, the “007” has a NEDC-rated range of up to 643km, said HYCAN (Photo source: HYCAN).
