Xiaomi EV said its factory will continue to ramp up capacity in October, with a production target of 20,000 units in a single month.

Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY)'s first electric vehicle (EV) model, the SU7, delivered more than 10,000 units in September, the phone maker's EV unit Xiaomi EV announced today.

As it has done for the past three months, Xiaomi EV did not release specific figures for SU7 monthly deliveries.

The SU7 has seen deliveries of more than 10,000 units for four consecutive months, Xiaomi EV said, adding that it is aiming to produce and deliver more than 20,000 vehicles in October.

The Xiaomi EV plant will continue to ramp up capacity in October with a production target of 20,000 units in a single month, it said on Weibo.

Xiaomi EV is expected to meet its full-year delivery target of 100,000 units ahead of schedule in November, it said, repeating the previously mentioned target figure.

Xiaomi officially launched the SU7 on March 28, offering three versions -- Standard, Pro, and Max -- at starting prices of RMB 215,900 ($30,761), RMB 245,900, and RMB 299,900, respectively.

Deliveries of the Standard and Max versions of the SU7 began in April, while deliveries of the SU7 Pro began in May.

In May, Xiaomi delivered paid 8,646 SU7 series cars, the handset maker said in a June 2 Hong Kong stock exchange announcement.

After that, Xiaomi didn't mention specific monthly delivery figures, though it said in its August 21 earnings report that it delivered 27,307 units of the Xiaomi SU7 series in the second quarter.

The Xiaomi EV plant opened for double-shift production in June and underwent production line tuning and maintenance in July, the company said in its second-quarter earnings report.

Xiaomi expects to complete its cumulative delivery target of 100,000 units of the Xiaomi SU7 series ahead of schedule in November, and the company would challenge its new target of delivering 120,000 units in a full year by 2024, it said in its second-quarter earnings report.
