NIO Energy, Geely team up in EV charging field

Shanghai (ZXZC)- On March 27, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. officially signed an open platform cooperation agreement with Wuhan NIO Energy Co., Ltd., according to a post on Geely Auto's Weibo account.

Under the agreement, vehicle owners of Geely's Galaxy range, GEOME range, Lynk & Co, ZEEKR, and smart brands will gain access to real-time information about NIO charging piles via their respective brand apps. This information includes location, pricing, availability, and navigation guidance, facilitating seamless charging experiences.

NIO Energy will furnish Geely with open platform services encompassing dynamic and static data on charging piles, along with applications for platform charging facilities. Up until now, NIO boasts a network of 3,737 charging stations with 21,720 charging piles spanning 306 cities nationwide, intending to offer Geely's electric vehicle users rapid and convenient recharging solutions.

In the realm of power replenishment field, ZEEKR Power has deployed a total of 445 ultra-fast charging stations (800V charging stations) with 2,439 charging piles across China. Geely's Galaxy, GEMOE ranges, and Lynk & Co brand have fully integrated into ZEEKR Power's network, capitalizing on the group's expansive recharging infrastructure.

Moreover, Geely has earmarked exclusive "Recharge Parks" for Galaxy users, slated to encompass 300 stations by 2024. Furthermore, Geely has consolidated charging resources from major operators nationwide, and has been given access to 750,000 charging piles in 330 cities in China.

In addition to the cooperation in the charging field, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group previously signed a strategic cooperation agreement on battery swapping business with NIO Holdings Ltd. The two parties will engage in comprehensive cooperation in multiple areas, including swappable battery standards, battery swapping technology, service network construction and operation, R&D and customization of battery swappable models, as well as battery asset management and operation.
