BYD’s fire new A0-segment SUV Yuan UP goes on sale

Shanghai (ZXZC)- On March 26, BYD officially put the Yuan UP model, the first A0-segment all-electric SUV riding on the e-Platform 3.0, onto the market. Coming with three trim levels, the model features a guidance price range of 96,800 yuan to 119,800 yuan.

In terms of appearance, the Yuan UP combines geometric and round elements, achieving a balance between strength and softness. It maintains the Dynasty series' dragon-face aesthetic that BYD is known for while incorporating more fashionable and youthful elements. Notably, the vehicle sports a new design language, featuring a closed front grille adorned with a black panel and the Yuan logo in small seal script, complemented by slender headlights on either side for a pronounced layered effect.

From the side, the Yuan UP adopts concealed door handles, with black panels and chrome accents added to the bottom edges.

The rear of the Yuan UP presents a full and rounded contour, with a through-type taillight assembly that complements the vehicle's cute and cool style.

The dimensions of the vehicle are 4,310mm in length, 1,830mm in width, and 1,675mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,620mm.

The new model comes with four exterior color solutions.

Inside, the Yuan UP features a black and beige color scheme, enhanced by a panoramic skylight that brightens and expands the interior space. The interior continues to exhibit BYD's distinct design language, with a combination of a 12.8-inch central control screen and an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster enhancing the vehicle's technological appeal. Moreover, the vehicle includes a significant number of physical buttons near the multifunctional steering wheel and gear shift, catering to users who prefer traditional controls.

The vehicle's front seats support electric adjustment, while the rear seats offer ample space and a flat floor, ensuring comfort even in the middle seat. The rear also features USB ports and small storage compartments. The Yuan UP's trunk space is impressive, demonstrating practical utility with the rear seats supporting a 4/6 split-fold.

In terms of power, the vehicle comes in two variants with maximum outputs of 70kW/130kW and peak torque of 180Nm and 290Nm, respectively. As for the range, it offers a CLTC-rated range of 301km and 401km. The vehicle features a front MacPherson independent suspension and a rear torsion beam non-independent suspension, boasting a minimum turning radius of just 5.25 meters.
