Shanghai (ZXZC)- The newborn EV brand “Skywell” has already launched its product plan, less than a week after its name was firstly known by the public.

Over the next five years, the startup plans to roll out four all-new models based on two platforms—the “BE” platform targets affordable BEV models and the “CE” will be available to mid- & full-sized models in higher position, according to local media reports.

We can notice some key figures from the aforementioned plan, such as “2” and “4”, and this is why the company names the strategy “2+4+N”. As for the “N”, the startup wants to launch several intelligent technologies, while the number still remains uncertain.

Jiangsu Skywell Automobile Co.,Ltd, the operator behind Skywell, is wholly-owned by the Chinese NEV manufacturer Sky-well New Energy Automobile Group Co. Ltd. Founded on November 1, 2019, the subsidiary has a business scope extending to cover the R&D, manufacture and sale of complete vehicles and auto parts, as well as the NEV-related technology development and transfer, according to the company information search platform Tianyancha.

The first model under the new brand has been simultaneously unveiled and is set to go on sale in the second half of 2020. The fire-new SUV model features a closed-off grille coupled with a headlight cluster that stretches across the entire face. Besides, the fastback-typed silhouette and the massive five-spoke rims emphasize dynamic aesthetics for the vehicle. However, the interior details and the key performance parameters still remained unknown.

Tianyancha still shows that Huang Hongsheng, the founder of the leading global television brand Skyworth, serves as the legal representative of the newly-built EV company. In 2010, Mr. Huang set up Sky-well New Energy Automobile Group Co. Ltd, which was granted the access of PV manufacturer by China's MIIT in 2017 and passed the inspection for the access of NEV manufacturer (photo source: Skywell).
