Geely Yuanjing X1 Launched On The Chinese Car Market
The new Geely Yuanjing X1 has been launched on the Chinese car market, price starts at 39.900 yuan and ends at 57.900 yuan. The Yuanjing X1 is a small crossover hatchback with the typical Geely grille. proper roof rails, and shiny racy wheels. It is aimed at young first-car buyers in small cities.
The Yuanjing X1 is based on the Geely Panda. Same platform, same engines, same body. Geely’s designers did a great job turning the old cat into the new X1; recycling is an art.
The Panda debuted all the way back in 2009 and it has just been cancelled. Last price range was 36.900 yuan to 49.900 yuan.
The Panda was available with a 68hp 1.0 and a 94hp 1.5.
The 1.0 continues in the X1 unchanged. The 1.5 has been replaced by an 88hp 1.3.
Boxes: 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. Power goes to the front wheels.
Size: 3778/1663/1519, and wheelbase is 2353.
Black wheel arches and black B-C pillars make for a sporty profile.
Rear window frame in black.
Geely really did its best on the inside and it shows, this must be the bets looking interior of the segment. Orange over black color scheme looks great, flat bottomed steering wheel is cool, and there are perforated pedals to get just a little bit more speed out of that 88hp motor.
Fake-carbon fiber trim on the dashboard and a video game-like instrument panel.
The main screen is a massive 11.6 inch, easily the biggest in class. It controls everything from the air conditioning to sat nav to radio, and it is equipped with Wifi. Since the X1 is aimed at the young the operating system has a ‘cool’ name: X-FUN.
Not very big but not very bad. Orange head rests look nice.
The Geely Yuanjing X1 is clearly not entirely new, but its low price, crossy looks and techy dashboard should help it to find some buyers.
